Welcome to Crofton Living's first ever blog post!

Random thoughts will no doubt be foremost here - whatever goes through my head usually comes out on paper...well, paper no longer, but I still love linen stationery, a beautiful journal and my Elsa Peretti Tiffany pen that is now over 30 years old! I do miss the days of sending and receiving a letter...

A little more about me - I love anything black and white, pink, flowers but not gardening, fashion but not fads, decorating my home and everyone else's, drapery that is the exact right length, and everything Italian. And let's not forget Mr. Darcy - I love him too. The Oxford comma, both the Hepburns - Audrey and Katherine - old and new musicals. A brick wall in a house can make me feel faint, a grand piano loaded with black and white photos in silver frames will stop me dead every time. A big table in a dining room - it must be big enough for a party and have comfortable enough chairs to sit in for hours with coffee or after dinner limoncello.

Growing up in a big Italian and Irish neighborhood in NYC, friends and family dropping in and out is part of my life. A big antipasto tray and a few bottles of red wine on a Friday night in summer on the patio with the neighbors is my idea of heaven.

And pillows. Pillows make me happy. Pillows make me very happy. Pillows make me so happy that I am going to devote my life to them. You can change a room, a color scheme, a season, a theme (Lin-Manuel Miranda watch out!)

A few of my favorites in the picture here - a new wood tray from the Luckett's Spring Market (if you haven't been to Luckett's in NoVa you need to run!), peonies from my garden, my cool square teapot from a little shop in Rhode Island...
